There is a nod to Yoshi earlier in the movie when Mario, Princess Peach and Toad are travelling to the Jungle Kingdom. Mario fans will know this is teasing the arrival of the adorable green dinosaur Yoshi in the sequel, but we never see what the movie version of Yoshi looks like.
